The Institution will be marking Armed Forces Day with a weekend of events beginning with an Exhibition of War time memorabilia from the collection of Lewis Elliot. In the ILOI Head-Quarters on Friday 19 June and also on Saturday afternoon after Armed Forces Day this is not to be missed.

Then on Saturday we will be at Armed Forces Day in Coleraine which promises to be a spectacular celebration of and solidarity with our Armed Forces. It marks our long standing links with those who serve and sacrifice and we pay tribute to our veterans who proudly wear their medals on parade.

To coincide with the events in Coleraine our Ballymoney District will be holding their annual Somme Commemoration Parade and Memorial Event in Ballymoney, assembling at 1845  Townhead Street.

This event is a great way to round off your Armed Forces Day and will provide a point of reflection and connection to the service and sacrifice of all those who have fought for our freedom.

Afterwards crowds are expected to stay for the Tullaghans Sons of Liberty Flute Band annual band period. They will have their new uniforms on parade and will bring the weekend to a close in style.
