Centenary Banner Parade

26/06/2021 @ 7:30 pm

Banners hold an important place in Orange culture. Evolving from a flag which served a similar role to regimental colours the Orange banner gre in size until it was necessary to be carried by two men.

The Orange Banner is an Iconic symbol of fraternal organisations in Northern Ireland. It is also something we have exported to the world, with banners now seen on parade across the globe. The banners usually depict scenes of historic or religious significance, most carry an image of William Prince of Orange often in the iconic representation of the King on his white charger.

Banners tell a story and embody what is important to lodge. They are hand painted and often represent months of fundraising and planning. So lets tell our story with pride and showcase as many Orange Banners as we can to mark the centenary of Northern Ireland.

Come along and carry your lodges banner, or your bands bannerette or colours with pride.
