The spirit of the 1940s will be inspiring an afternoon tea and entertainment at Garryduff to mark VE Day. As part of the ILOI programme of events to mark the 80th Anniversary of the end of the war the event will include entertainment and an exhibition.

It will see members of our Junior Lodge host and exhibition of Second World War Memorabilia and Artefacts. In a wonderful turn of events our young people will be education us on the past and helping to give a real feel for the events of 80 years ago.

There will be a children’s corner with crafts and games and for older children and all those kids at heart a Virtual reality simulator where you can experience the fighting conditions of the War.

Musical entertainment and of course a traditional afternoon tea will remind us of the past – except there will be no rationing at this event!
