Tullaghans Sons of Liberty Flute Band proudly paraded their new band uniforms following a dedication Service that was held in the Independent Orange Headquarters on Monday 6th April 2026.
Officiating at the dedication service was Rt Wor Bro Phil Moffatt, Imperial Grand Master of the Independent Loyal Orange Institution paid tribute to the very special and long standing relationship which has developed between the band and the Institution over many years.
The Grand Master praised the Officers and members of the band identifying that Tullaghans was initially formed just 3 years after the end of the Second World War in 1948.
“Such service is to be noted and applauded. We recognise this milestone in the life of the band as they you seek today to dedicate your 7th uniform since your formation many years ago.”
The Grand Master further highlighted the 4 key stages in the process of obtaining a new uniform
a) The DISCUSSION which developed amongst the band members
b) The DECISION to proceed and start the process
c) The DEDICATION and DEVOTION required of each member as they sought to raise funds
d) The DELIVERY of the new uniforms for the Easter Monday Apprentice Boys Parade
After commending the band for reaching this new chapter, The Grand Master then focused upon the importance of making do and adequate preparation for the great eternity.
He continued “Life is filled with decisions “
“Our DECISIONS in this life regarding Christ, will determine our DESTINY in the life to come….”
Appealing to the band members Bro Moffatt closed by referring them to Proverbs Chapter 3 v 5,6 which is Key in living a fruitful life and leaving a lasting testimony.
“Trust in the Lord with all thy heart, lean not on thine own understanding, in all they ways acknowledge HIM and HE shall direct thy path.“
The new uniform was then dedicated in the Name of God and in memory of William lll Prince of Orange.
