This year the Twelfth was hosted by Rasharkin District with a series of events to mark The Twelfth beginning with an excellent breakfast in the Headquarters. Thanks to all those who prepared and distributed the food. It was a great way to start the count down to the Twelfth.
Other events included
the Boyne Commemoration Service hosted by Garryduff Independent Orange Lodge on the Sunday before the Twelfth and a BBQ and Beacon lighting at McNeillstown. Rasharkin brethren also found time to ensure the village was well decorated for the occasion and the assembly and demonstration fields were prepared. For the crowds who come to enjoy the Twelfth itself few consider the hard work and planning often by a small group of local men to ensure the big day happens. We pay tribute to the brethren of Rasharkin and as we return to our traditional schedule of parades after the pandemic this was the first time we organised the day outside Ballymoney.
