Grandmasters Christmas Address 2022

Brethren, Sister, and Friends of our great Institution here we are in the week before Christmas, fortunately, unlike last year  we are not so much under the threat from Covid 19 though it is still about in society. Thankfully because of science we can control it now by the vaccines which have been developed, and life is slowly getting  back to “normal”, and my hope is that it will stay that way.

Christmas is a special time of the year for members of our Institution, families will be having their loved one’s home to share in the excitement that it offers, exchanging gifts, feasting and relaxing, I wish you all a blessed time, for others in our Orange family this will be a difficult time as there will be an empty chair at the family table for the first time, to them I offer my prayers of support.

This year the country finds itself in a demanding situation due to the state of the economy and when this happens everyone suffers and we are no different, rising costs of food, electric, gas and heating oil, are something we all must deal with. My prayer is that none of our members will suffer too badly, but if there is any member of our Institution in difficulties then please call me to discuss it in confidence and I will see if I can do anything to help the situation.

Our Institution will have family members who may have to go to their place of work on Christmas Day and I pay tribute to them as they serve, whether in the security forces, NHS, or charity work or wherever it is, and I commend them for their dedication.

So, as we are busy rushing around in these last few days leading up to Christmas Day, it will do us good to remind ourselves of the true meaning of Christmas as told us in John 3 V16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

In closing l wish all Orangemen, sisters, and supporters wherever you are in the world a Happy Christmas and Peaceful New Year

Rt. Wor.Bro. James Anderson Imperial Grand Master
